Just Humans Being...

It's been quite a surprise to be having hot weather in July & August... Something we haven't experienced since 1976! Great if you're on holiday - not so good if you're spending most of your time indoors cleaning other people's houses... And why do older people keep their windows closed (& locked) during hot weather? The last 6 days has been like working in a sauna - One consolation is we get to work with these views... On route to a house we spent 3 days cleaning... It's on a tiny peninsula... And it feels more like an island... Sime cleaning the conservatory... And the view from the shower room... A meal at Heligan, in between jobs... The Air Ambulance landing in the field next to another cottage we clean... Our first community wind turbine going up... Morris Dancers outside our local pub... With the 'oss... They finished off with a sing-a-long inside the pub... Curry in Truro last night... Sunset over Boscawen Park in Truro......

Hello!!! Sorry to those of you who have been concerned & thank you for the messages!  We're absolutely fine - just worked 6 exhausting days! We now have 2 work free days, so watch this space... Bye for now, Kay & Sime xx

Another trip to the far west of Cornwall... Starting off at Marazion... With a good view of  St Michaels Mount . Towards Land's End - we spotted this traction engine... We had to stop to have a look. Then it was on to Sennen Cove... Where there was a strange mist over the sea... The sea looked beautiful... And the beach was packed! Land's End is now like a theme park... It costs £5 just to park the car - we didn't stay! Instead we stopped at  The Apple Tree Cafe . A place we could see ourselves running... Where we discovered we'd been before many years ago! When it had different owners... They obviously share our taste in colour... So lovely... And the food was outstanding... Courgette & Mint Burgers with all the trimmings. The tastiest meal we've had in a long time... The carrot cake was delicious too... As was the chocolate & walnut brownie... It was so good - we had to write an essay in their visitor's book!
