Weekend Starts Here


We've worked today, but it's been a wonderfully straightforward day...

Our first B&B guests cancelled their stay with us - due to the weather... Luckily, we still got paid, so nevermind & it means I get to go out instead, as tonight Sime's off to the most westerly village in mainland Britain - where The Dolphins Fly have a gig...

We've also got 2 days off - which is nice!

    Hope you have a lovely weekend. Shame your guests felt the need to cancel, but if you get paid anyway, sounds like the best of both worlds. Let's hope the weather cheers up soon.

    Hope you enjoy the bank holiday...I was going to go to a Greenman festival but it's been cancelled due to the weather! Oh well, watching DVDs in my PJs it is then!

Some of you know about my fight with Graves Disease, an auto immune system disorder, which causes an overactive thyroid. Since I was diagnosed 7 years ago, I have made it my business to know everything I possibly could about the condition & this has probably saved my life. Our garden yesterday. Tall Nettles TALL nettles cover up, as they have done These many springs, the rusty harrow, the plough Long worn out, and the roller made of stone: Only the elm butt tops the nettles now. This corner of the farmyard I like most: As well as any bloom upon a flower I like the dust on the nettles, never lost Except to prove the sweetness of a shower. ~ Edward Thomas ~ Every time we venture out to pick nettles, Sime always goes on about this poem! Getting Back To basics

We've had another very busy week, but we are very happy to be escaping for a few days. We decided that as it's our Silver Wedding Anniversary on Monday, we should do something a bit different... So we're going to be staying in a yurt on Bodmin Moor! It's going to be wonderful... No computer. No phone. No work.
